A new report from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) said the April 2016 tremors were “likely correlated” to activities at Hilcorp’s North Beaver NC Development wellpad near Mahoning Township in Lawrence County. Hilcorp was carrying out a zipper frack operation and had finished work on two of the wells by the time the quakes happened on 25 April, the DEP said.
