Brazilian state-controlled oil giant Petrobras has resumed drilling in the giant Libra pre-salt area, as it prepares to conclude appraising the north-western structure of the Santos basin development ahead of first oil.

Petrobras started drilling last week the 10th well at the Libra field in 2087 metres of water using the Seadrill drillship West Tellus. The campaign is expected to last up to three months and reach a final depth of over 5800 metres.
