The company and Japanese partner Inpex struck a “highly productive reservoir” in the Mishrif formation at the 5600-square-kilometre tract 150 kilometres west of Basra.
Testing has confirmed a production volume of “more than 8000 barrels per day”, with the partners expecting “there will be a high probability of discovering a large oilfield” depending on the results of further exploration work.
