Talks with contractor groups vying to land turnkey orders to build Mamba’s subsea production equipment in Area 4 and its two onshore LNG trains are ongoing and it appears that only a development plan may be submitted to the government in 2017.
Thore Kristiansen, who heads the upstream business of Lisbon-based Galp Energia, a partner in Mamba, suggested it is very unlikely a final investment decision will be taken this year, telling Upstream: “An ambition would be if we could deliver to the government a plan for operation and development for Mamba during 2017.”
