“Part of the tender process is for multiple vessels,” said a well-placed source, stressing that NewAge, which has established a dedicated FLNG business, spent a long time designing an “ideal vessel” that can also handle liquids.

“NewAge has found a real, real sweet spot and if its chosen contractors are where it thinks they are, then it can get economies of scale by building multiple vessels that are essentially the same with full wet gas treatment,” said the source.
