The management of Iran’s gas export sector has recently undergone a transformation, which has caused some confusion among foreign companies dealing with Iran but has turned out to be a limited re-organisation, writes Vahe Petrossian.

The confusion centres on the name “National Iranian Gas Export Company (Nigec),” which was set up as the export-oriented arm of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) at the turn of the century by the then, and now for a second time, oil minister Bijan Zanganeh.
