Lukoil’s local subsidiary Nizhnevolzhskneft was unable to test two reservoirs that were found to hold hydrocarbons with its first probe, Khazri-1.

According to a Nizhnevolzkskneft official, drilling of the first well at Khazri on Lukoil’s Central Caspian acreage was halted at a depth of 5000 metres.

The official said the operator confirmed the presence of hydrocarbons in reservoirs at two different depths but was unable to conduct flow rate tests for safety reasons.
