OMV is turning Russia into a new “core area” after paying more than $1.8 billion to acquire a one quarter share in the Yuzhno Russkoye natural gas field.
The Austrian group is also hoping to close later this year an asset swap deal it has been pursuing for more than a year with gas giant Gazprom covering nearby fields.
