More than a month after the federal government approved the project, the company said it continues to move forward with the regulatory, commercial and construction planning of the 980-kilometre expansion.

Originally pegged to cost C$6.8 billion, the company said several factors have changed since the TMX project was initially proposed, including market conditions.

It also said design changes had been made to address public concerns, such as a thicker pipe wall and additional drilled crossings in environmentally sensitive areas and in the Burnaby Mountain tunnel in British Columbia.
