The UK player has chartered the drillship West Saturn to drill the Ayame-1X (also called Ayame West) exploration well on Block C1-513 in the second quarter.
The well has been assigned a mean prospective resource estimate of 234 million barrels of oil, with a 23% geological chance of success.
Ophir had said in January that the probe was targeting around 240 million barrels of recoverable resources with an estimated 28% chance of commercial success.
