Foreign partners of CNOOC Ltd are expected to increase activity in the shallow waters of the South China Sea, where they aim to drill up to seven exploration wells in the Pearl River Mouth basin over the next year.
Drilling contractors told Upstream that Husky Energy, through its local arm Husky Oil China, has approached the market about the provision of a jack-up rig for a two-well exploration campaign at Block 15/33.
