Hurricane is proposing beginning production from its Lancaster field via an early production system, the first step towards unlocking the full potential of the company’s assets on the Rona Ridge, and has now submitted an environmental statement to the UK authorities.
In line with earlier predictions, the document said first oil is likely in mid-2019.
However, if installation of subsea equipment and of Bluewater Energy Services’ Aoka Mizu floating production, storage and offloading vessel — the facility chosen for the EPS — is completed early enough “it is possible [production] could begin as early as the end of 2018”, it added.
