Malaysia’s leading platform fabricators are preparing to roll their sleeves up in a competitive bid for a lucrative contract to build Mubadala Petroleum’s Pegaga central processing platform.

The two largest engineering, procurement and construction outfits are Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE) and SapuraKencana Petroleum, both of which are desperate to win new work.

Sources said both companies are likely to compete alone for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the platform, and that the bid invitation could come next month.
