In Brunei, the Anglo-Dutch supermajor — through its Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) subsidiary — is expected to award a contract as soon as May for a jack-up rig on a three-to-five-year contract.

More than a dozen drilling contractors submitted bids for this job, with two priced options, sources said. The initial option is for three years, plus three years of priced options, while the other option is for an initial five-year firm charter, again with three years of priced options.
