Cobalt International Energy is trying hard to hang onto and advance its flagship North Platte discovery in the US Gulf even as it struggles to disentangle itself from a collapsed divestment deal for assets off Angola.
The US independent is looking to sell its 20% stake in the Anadarko-operated Shenandoah development as it seeks a buyer for the African fields, and may also sell a share of North Platte if necessary.
