Pertamina earlier had narrowed down its short-list of internal contenders for president director to just three, with the names submitted to Jokowi, though some sources said outsiders were still in the frame.
The Jakarta Globe on Wednesday reported that the government had decided on Elia Massa Manik, president director of state-owned plantation company Perkebunan Nusantara III to lead Pertamina, but this could not be confirmed as Upstream went to press.
