The project would have comprised an initial two-train facility with a total liquefaction capacity of 14 million tonnes per annum.However, Shell is not giving up on Canadian West coast LNG and is still pursuing the LNG Canada project in Kitimat, British Columbia.
“This project continues to be progressed by Shell and the joint venture participants as an opportunity to bring Canadian gas resources to global gas markets,” it said.
