SBM 'in line for FLNG projects'

Xikomba deal: 12-year lease of vessel to Eni set to close in current quarter, says SBM Offshore chief

SBM Offshore is in line for two floating liquefied natural gas front end engineering and design projects in Australia and Indonesia in 2012, chief executive Tony Mace has revealed.

Speaking to journalists by telephone on Thursday after the company released its latest quarterly and year-to-date results, Mace said that the company also “has a number of prospects with several projects in Brazil and West Africa, including in Angola, Congo and Ghana” next year.

Over the next three to six months Mace said that “there is a possibility for a turret project in Australia, and there are prospects for turret projects in Brazil for OSX as well”.
