Kencana wins fabrication contracts

Malaysian riches: Kencana has won 101 million ringgit worth of contracts from Murphy for offshore platforms at the Patricia and Serendah fields

Malaysia’s Kencana Petroleum has won 101 million ringgit ($33.6 million) worth of contracts from US independent Murphy Oil for platform fabrication.

In an announcement confirming a recent Upstream report, Kencana said the contracts include substructures, template and related services for offshore platforms at the Patricia and Serendah fields in Block SK 309, off Sarawak.

Upstream understands Murphy has lined up two oil production and one accommodation platforms for the fields.

Deliveries are scheduled for first quarter through third quarter of 2012.
