Much has been written of the potential of the Liberia basin to compare with proven structures further west in Ghana’s Tano basin — and without doubt this week’s pronouncements show grounds for optimism.
Reports on both sides of the maritime boundary hint at “large accumulations” and describe “excellent quality light oil” but remain reticient on questions of producibility and reservoir extent.
