Double discoveries off Liberia and Sierra Leone add hope but still some way to go

THE discovery of oil this week off the coasts of Liberia and Sierra Leone will do nothing to dampen heightened public anticipation in both countries of a bonanza capable of lifting their war-ravaged populations out of grinding poverty.
