Romney on energy offensive

A win in the Texas primary this week put Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney over the hump of delegates needed to secure the party’s nomination, writes Blake Wright.

The victory was a necessary formality for the former Massachusetts governor who was basically the last man standing for the Republican bid for the White House.

For weeks, Team Romney had turned their attacks from party rivals to the incumbent administration and President Barack Obama.

Energy was an early hot button issue in the race, with Romney chiding Obama over the administration’s bureaucratic approach to fossil fuels and its investments in failed renewables companies.
