Norway bullish while UK is looking baleful

Oil strikes in Norway come thick and fast. If it is not new discoveries then it is industrial action by the offshore workforce.

The latter tends to make the global headlines more readily, because any lost production pushes up the world price of oil.

And so it was this time, as a dispute over pay and pensions triggered a strike that was only broken when the government intervened in this, the second week.

Now the case goes to arbitration and Norway can get on with what it does best — providing oil and gas to the rest of the world.

The other thing it is currently doing pretty well at is making new discoveries.
