Petrobras pitched centre court

The French Open at Roland Garros always draws in the big hitters of the tennis world. But this year, an ace name from the oil industry also got in on the game.

Petrobras was given a bit of air time on British Eurosport’s coverage of the major annual tournament courtesy of US engineering giant Emerson, which was keen to showcase its recent bit of business with the Brazilian energy giant.

Emerson’s brief message wedged in between games from Federer, Nadal et al read: “Help Brazil reduce its overall reliance on foreign imports with the launch of the country’s largest petrochemical operation? Emerson takes up the challenge. It’s never been done before. Simply becomes ‘consider it solved’.”
