Russian energy globetrotters

Two Russian students are set to travel the globe to discover the world’s most interesting energy industry spots after winning a nationwide contest.

Muscovite Maria Khromova (pictured right), a geophysics graduate, and Egor Goloshov (pictured left), an economics student from Zlatoust, were chosen from some 49,000 entries as the winners of the Energy of Adventure competition.

They will visit 21 countries, including both developed and emerging nations, during the three-month trip organised by Moscow non-profit organisation Global Energy.

Khromova said she saw the trip as “a unique opportunity to tell the world about the most important energy-related discoveries”.

Goloshov said he will seek to expand on his interest in renewable sources such as tidal, wind and solar…
