Greens give Shell pause for thought

Shell is used to getting the cold shoulder from environmental groups on its Arctic plans, but Greenpeace is proving to be a particular pain in the ads.

The greens group has teamed up with activists The Yes Men to help the climate conscious devise devious fake adverts lampooning the supermajor’s drilling campaign off Alaska.

After duping numerous media outlets recently with a phony press conference and video suggesting how Shell’s Arctic adventure could go horribly wrong, the greens were at it again with their spoof website www.ArcticReady.com, which includes a feature allowing viewers to subvert Shell’s ‘Let’s Go’ advertising campaign with their own creations.
