Aker Solutions is branching out

NORWEGIAN contracting giant Aker Solutions has invested heavily in the highly competitive Brazilian subsea sector.

The company was rewarded with a wave of orders for the first application of subsea trees in the Santos basin pre-salt province.

The 48 contracted subsea tree systems include eight for the Lula pilot floating production, storage and offloading unit, that is already on stream, plus 14 for the Sapinhoa pilot and 26 for Lula North-East — both due to produce first oil in 2013.
