Saipem banks on smoothing environmental permit path

BY OPTING for an established industrial area with minor dredging requirements to attain an 11 to 12-metre draft, Saipem is hoping to avoid some of the pitfalls that have affected Subsea 7 in that company’s efforts to supply and install riser systems for the Guara (Sapinhoa)-Lula project, writes Gareth Chetwynd.
