BP believes it has essentially finished reckoning with major claims from the 2010 Macondo disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, and plans to take its last big charge of $5.2 billion in its second-quarter earnings.
All told, the UK supermajor reckons its final bill for the deadly explosion, spill and clean-up will come to $61.6 billion, or $44 billion after taxes.
