Occidental investors received 0.4 shares of California Resources for each share they held, though Occidental retained a roughly 19% ownership in the new company.

California Resources produced an average of 156,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the second quarter this year when operating as part of Occidental.

Earlier this year, Occidental named Todd Stevens as chief executive.

Stevens previously served as the company’s vice president of corporate development.
