US PLAYER Chesapeake Energy has closed its previously announced $2 billion sale of a package of midstream assets to Global Infrastructure Partners.

The deal is part of a raft of asset sales needed to close the company’s financing gap.

The company continues to negotiate the sale of another $2 billion in midstream stakes to Global.
