Sweden's West Siberian Resources, which operates several oilfields in Russia, has raised $60 million of capital through a private placement of 106 million of its common shares at 56 US cents a piece to international institutional investors.
The company also said that it had obtained approval to complete its recently announced purchase of oil producer Pechoraneft, based in northern Russia, which boasts output of 6750 barrels per day.
