Karen Buchwald Wright, chief executive of US natural gas compressor giant Ariel, came home to Mount Vernon, Ohio to run a bookstore only to find herself reading tomes on management after taking over control of the family business and now preparing to pass it on to her own children.
“I absolutely wasn’t planning this at all,” she says of herself as a teenager.
