In business for the long run

Ravi Sheth, the managing director of one of India’s leading offshore drilling companies, Greatship India, knows that business is a marathon and not a sprint.

Sheth is a dedicated runner and trains at least three times a week, usually covering between nine and 16 kilometres.

He has competed in many half-marathons, and perseverance is one of his best attributes — whether he is wearing training gear or a suit and tie.

Greatship’s drilling assets and capabilities have been gradually built up over the years since it was created in 2006.

“Greatship has been very conscious of the acquisition costs of our assets. We do not believe in aggressive buying,” Sheth says.
