Mixon on course to bank new standard

CONNIE Mixon, chief executive of London-listed water treatment company MyCelx, left a high-profile investment banking job with Deutsche Bank in 2004 to devote herself to a radically different field.

Mixon appears to relish every moment of the challenge, despite uncertainties in nurturing a small outfit seeking a toehold in the cut-throat oil industry business.

She took the helm because MyCelx needed a business-savvy individual to make a success of an oil removal technique the company had pioneered.

“I worked 18 years as a banker. I had done everything that I wanted to do,” Mixon explains.
