Soma acquired the seismic last year following a 2013 agreement giving it right of first refusal on up to 12 blocks after shooting data in selected onshore and offshore areas.
Preliminary analysis has already “identified specific prospects that merit further exploration”, according to Soma chair and former UK Conservative Party leader Michael Howard.
Soma completed 20,500 lines of offshore 2D seismic over a 122,000 square kilometre evaluation area that it claims fulfils its obligations.
