The Federal Court ruled against Chevron in a case that argued the US major had used internal lending practices to reduce its Australian taxes. Chevron was reportedly shifting profits offshore through transfer pricing.

If the court’s decision stands, Chevron will have to pay an estimated A$322 million in back taxes and penalties.
