LONDON-listed Chariot Oil & Gas lured Eni as a partner on its deep-water Moroccan acreage last week, helped by geology similar to that of the Italian major’s Zohr discovery off Egypt and attractive terms for any commercial dis­covery.

Chariot chief executive Larry Bottomley suggested to Upstream that the Rabat Deep licence is of particular interest to Eni because its largest prospect, JP-1, is similar to the 30 trillion cubic feet Zohr find.
