A well-placed source in the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development told Upstream that the successful bidders are Australian juniors Armour Energy and Swala Energy, Nigeria’s Niger Delta Petroleum Resources, Oranto Petroleum International and WalterSmith Petroman Oil, and Canada-based Rift Energy.

Assuming this list is finalised at senior government levels, the only unsuccessful bidder is Glint Energy of the US. It is unclear which blocks the six companies will be awarded

The six blocks offered in the licensing round were Ngassa in Hoima district, Taitai and Karuka in Buliisa district, Ngaji in Rukungiri-Kanungu districts, Mvule in Moyo-Yumbe districts plus Turaco and Kanywantaba in Ntoroko district.
