REPRESENTATIVES of the UK oil and gas industry have reacted with “disappointment” to the Scottish Parliament’s narrow decision to ban hydraulic fracturing in Scotland, writes Anamaria Deduleasa.

Industry group UK Onshore Oil & Gas (UKOOG) claimed that the motion was passed “without a public consultation”.

In a 32 to 29 vote, with Scottish Greens and Liberal Democrats joining Labour to defeat the Conservatives, Scotland has now extended a moratorium on the technique.
