SOUTH Africa’s two major anti-fracking groups have delivered a petition to the country’s parliament demanding that it scrutinise much more closely the activities of the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR), writes Iain Esau.

The groups accuse the DMR of being less than transparent over its decision-making process on potential shale gas exploration in the arid Karoo region.
