The first is the 225-kilometre, 44-inch concrete-coated export pipeline that will connect the central processing platform in about 155 metres of water to the onshore LNG plant at Ashburton North on the Pilbara coast.
There were three contenders for the job, and European pipelay giant Allseas has prevailed ahead of Italy’s Saipem and US company Global Industries, said sources. The pipeline will comprise 200,000 tonnes of line pipe, and there will be a 40-kilometre shallow-water approach that requires stabilization.
