The DOLE has lifted the “cease and desist order” issued on 24 October on Keppel’s compliance with recommended “corrective measures on occupational safety and health”, Labour Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said in a statement.
These recommendations cover the accreditation of safety practitioners and enhancement of safety procedures that apply to a ship repair job.
DOLE has also advised Keppel that the company’s subcontractors have to comply with health and safety and general labour standards, and must submit evidence of compliance to an accredited organisation.
