The supermajor has also started contract talks to lease an FPSO and various industry sources are pointing to SBM to be the exclusive provider of what would be the second dynamically-positioned FPSO to be deployed in the deep-water US Gulf.
SBM has not disclosed any such details but a Shell spokeswoman confirmed that a FEED based on an FPSO for Stones is “under way”.
