Both Total and Novatek — Russia’s largest independent gas producer — are evaluating results of an appraisal well at the field, which was completed at the end of last year.
Total paid Novatek $53 million last year for a 49% controlling stake in the field, which holds estimated recoverable reserves of about 47 billion cubic metres of gas and about 75 million barrels of condensate.
