Chevron said it is too early to tell the quantity of hydrocarbons involved, but added: “Emergency shutdown systems were activated immediately and functioned correctly.”
The gas release happened at about 15.00 GMT on Wednesday last week but was brought under control soon after and the 135 personnel on board were stood down about 15 minutes later.
Output restarted at 21.30 GMT on Thursday.
