The platform was supposed to be in place by September, along with first gas by the end of this year.

However, the late arrival has pushed the project back too far for installation this year.

Furie said as soon as the ice leaves next spring it will begin installation of the platform. The Alaska-based subsidiary of Germany’s Deutsche Oil & Gas said all the elements are now in place for the project including the gas gathering pipeline and onshore gas processing facility.
