Albania 3D for San Leon

UK-based San Leon Energy has started an 840-square kilometre 3D survey on its Durresi acreage off Albania.

Petroleum GeoServices has been contracted to carry out the survey using its Ramform Vanguard vessel.

The survey will evaluate a number of prospective targets in the block, including the A4-1X discovery, in preparation for drilling in 2012.

The A4-1X probe hit gas condensate in 1993 and lies 30 kilometres off the south coast.

San Leon estimates the discovery to contain about 38 million barrels of liquids and 150 billion cubic feet of gas.
