ExxonMobil eyes tie-back option for Hadrian project

On Track: Plans to flow gas from Hadrian South to Luciusin Keathley canyon Block 875 are going ahead.

ExxonMobil is leaning heavily toward developing the Hadrian South natural gas discovery as a subsea tie-back to a planned host facility on Anadarko’s Lucius field near to the north in the Keathley Canyon area of the deep-water Gulf of Mexico, writes Anthony Guegel.

Several industry sources said ExxonMobil is on track with engineering plans to flow gas from Hadrian South, in Keathley Canyon Blocks 963 and 964, to Lucius in Keathley Canyon Block 875.

Lucius is mostly oil but the spar that Anadarko is planning to build and install there is expected to have capacity for gas processing.

Technip has been carrying out preliminary engineering on Lucius based on a spar production platform.

The project could become reality as soon as Anadarko moves to begin construction of the spar for Lucius.
