Duo stepping up work on four finds for LNG plants

Shell and Petronas Carigali are pressing ahead with the development of four discoveries intended to increase supplies to the MLNG Dua and Tiga liquefied natural gas plants in Bintulu, Sarawak, with bids for detailed engineering due for submission this week.

Four detailed design contracts are on the table for the development of the F14 and F29 discoveries in blocks SK 308 and 312, the Laila field in Block SK 307 and the D12 marginal field in Block SK5.

F14 is the largest of the four finds and is expected to contribute at its peak, another 300 million cubic feet per day of gas output to feed the Bintulu plants. Production life is projected at about 11 years.
